SHROPSHIRE ARCHERY SOCIETY
COUNTY RECORDS OFFICER’S REPORT
It has been quite a busy year for new County records.
41 records have been claimed during the year to 31st March 2018 (compared with approximately 20 last year) and for a change, the majority of these were from senior rather than junior archers.
Clearly, claims for records rely on club officers organising events and reporting them to me. Please can I encourage Club Records officers to compile results, compare them to the County Records and make a claim if appropriate.
In an effort to bring the process into the 21st Century, I am happy to accept claims by email - though I do still require the results sheet as an attachment.
Claims are only accepted for scores recorded during an organised shoot – whether that be arranged as a “Club” event or an “Open” event within our outside the County. The claim must be supported by a copy of the Competition’s results.
Although the claim form states that there is a limited time to register a claim, I am fairly relaxed about this as long as I have the relevant documentation to support each claim.
Heritage scores continue to be posted onto the County website as soon as possible after each event, but this does rely on organisers sending me the scores. It may not be possible to have the summary completed before the final Heritage shoot if these events continue to be hosted on consecutive weekends in August and September.
